    Maximum Effect / Minimum Effort

Creating value through design is fundamental to our approach. The relevance and advantage of a design (cultural and social value) needs to be balanced with the short and long-term investment (economic value) of its production and maintenance, as well as the impact and return on both the local environment and the places of origin and production of materials (environmental value).

A good understanding of new and old materials, as well as real and current production and construction methods, leads to solutions that may appear intricate or complex, but are achieved in a cost-effective manner.

    Almost 30 years Experience

OOAU draws on the vast experience of its founder, Nuno Almeida, in the management of large-scale international projects. In 16 years at UNStudio (where he was Director) and in 10 years since founding OOAU, Nuno Almeida led several large-scale projects characterized by their high complexity, not only because of their geometrical and construction challenges, but also for their high degree of political and strategic sensitivity. In projects like the Arnhem Station, the Doha Metro Network and the AlUla Film Complex, his ability to reconcile the often opposing ambitions of Public Bodies, Owners, Users, Technical Teams and Contractors was key for the success of the operations.
